About Me

Hello, my name is Lisa.

I am a self-published author and illustrator of the children's fantasy novel;

Benedict Bagshaw and the Arborels.

Being an indie author in today’s literary world is both challenging and rewarding. My journey into contemporary fiction began as a passion project, exploring human emotions, relationships, and everyday struggles. As an indie author, I’ve had the freedom to craft stories that reflect the diversity and complexity of modern life, without the constraints of traditional publishing.

When I published my first novel on Amazon, I wasn’t just releasing a book, I was sharing a piece of my imagination with the world. My goal has always been to write stories that entertain, provoke thought, and teach valuable lessons.

Each story I create is authentic, with characters that feel real, and themes that resonate deeply with readers. The indie publishing process is tough and requires wearing many hats; writing, editing, designing, and marketing, however, it does allow complete creative control.

This independence ensures that my voice remains genuine, without outside pressures, and that every part of my work truly reflects who I am as a writer. Connecting with readers has been one of the most fulfilling parts of this journey. Contemporary fiction readers often look for stories that mirror their own experiences, and I strive to deliver characters and narratives they can relate to or learn from.

Indie authors, like myself, have the opportunity to introduce fresh ideas and break boundaries in the world of fiction. For aspiring authors, my advice is simple: Start writing, trust your voice, and embrace the journey. Being an indie author offers the freedom to create something completely unique, and with dedication, your stories will find their audience.

Feel free to explore the blog to truly immerse yourself in the world of fantasy!

'As individuals, we are the strongest versions of ourselves that we can be. As a united force, there is nothing we cannot achieve, there is no knowledge we cannot master and no battle we cannot win.'
